Disability/Mental Health Team Lead

It is the responsibility of the Disability /Mental Health Team Lead to ensure appropriate implementation of all Disability and Mental Health service area requirements in the Head Start Performance Standards.  The Disability /Mental Health Team Lead is responsible for assisting with the recruitment, enrollment, and arranging the delivery of appropriate services for children with special needs.  The Disability /Mental Health Team Lead will work closely with therapists, Mental Health Consultant, all program staff, children, and families to provide appropriate Disability and Mental Health Services. The Disability /Mental Health Team Lead is responsible for regular monitoring and special reporting required of all children with disabilities.


Essential Qualifications

  • Certification in Special Education preferred Early Childhood Education or other another disability specialty or specification a must. A minimum of a BS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Psychology.
  • Valid Driver's License and the use of a car during all working hours.
  • Documentation of at least one year of successful experience in preschool children's services.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job including verbal ability to communicate, the auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments and physical ability to complete assignments given accommodation as required by law.
